Don’t just sit back and let any old rubish into your brain. Pay attention to what you’re listening to. Am I the only one who thinks that there is something wrong with that? While kids are half way through their weekly installment of Hannah Montanna’s latest dilema of balancing superstardom with pretending to be a normal teen, these youngens are having sexually suggestive content pumped into their subconscious. A song about sex being played in the background of a kids program. And what song were they playing in the background? Shake It. They were doing a segment on graffiti art. Now I won’t try and pretend I was doing something else while it was on in the background, because you probably wouldn’t believe me. I was watching Saturday Disney the other morning. The thing that really gets to me is that songs like this are everywhere. Romans 8:5 says “Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” If you’re one of those people who just listen to the tune, do you know what you’re letting in to your head? Do you know what you’re subconcious is singing along to? If we’re going to be careful about what feeds our minds, we need to be people who pay attention to the lyrics. But I’m one of those guys who listens to lyrics. I have no problem with songs being about sex. Come on! They’re lying on the bed, but her clothes are laying right there? And I don’t even want to know what they’re touching and shaking. Now correct me if you think I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure this song is about sex.
